Talks on Gaza Ceasefire in Cairo Yield No Results
Another round of negotiations on a ceasefire agreement for the Gaza Strip, held in Cairo, has not yielded any results, but the process will continue, reports The Times of Israel, citing an American official.
According to the publication's source, the talks in Cairo were "constructive and conducted in the spirit of reaching a final and viable agreement, with all parties sharing this viewpoint." The official stated that "the process will continue in the coming days within working groups to further discuss remaining issues and details."
U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan mentioned during a press conference in Halifax, Canada, that Washington is still working "feverishly" with Egyptian and Qatari mediators as well as with the Israelis, media reports indicate.
"Notably, U.S. officials appear to be the only party in the negotiations expressing hope for further progress," the newspaper notes.
