Baku Includes Those Who Voted Against Azerbaijan's Delegation in PACE in 'Unwanted Persons' List
Those who voted against Azerbaijan's delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), including the head of the German delegation Frank Schwabe, have been included in the 'unwanted persons' list, announced Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ayhan Hacizade.
"If these individuals come to Azerbaijan before the restoration of our delegation's mandate in PACE, they will not be allowed to enter the country," he stated, referring to the possibility of Schwabe's visit to Baku within the framework of COP29.
Frank Schwabe is one of the authors of the initiative to expel the Azerbaijani parliamentary group from PACE. According to Azerbaijani APA, he recently stated that Azerbaijan is not interested in being a member of the Council of Europe and accused Baku of ignoring the values promoted by the council.
On January 24, PACE decided not to validate the powers of Azerbaijan's delegation. This decision removed the Azerbaijani delegation from PACE for at least one year.
