The CPP Purges Its Ranks in Preparation for the 2026 Elections
The newspaper "Zhoghavorud" reports: "Yesterday, the entire Sayat-Nova street in Yerevan was paralyzed as Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was en route to the CPP's governing body meeting. Sources from "Zhoghavorud" indicate that the CPP has already begun to 'purge' its ranks in order to secure a victory in the parliamentary elections of 2026.
It should be noted that the CPP’s governing body meeting had not been held for several weeks, as Nikol Pashinyan was on vacation. Yesterday, the CPP announced that a meeting of the "Civil Contract" party's governing body had taken place, chaired by Nikol Pashinyan. Tigran Makaryan's candidacy was confirmed for the position of chairman of the Shengavit Territorial Organization of the CPP.
The governing body has also approved the candidacies of Hovhannes Abrahamyan for the position of chairman of the Abovyan Territorial Organization and Sevak Badalyan for the position of chairman of the Berd Territorial Organization.
According to our sources, Pashinyan aims to have influential figures in the regions and administrative districts who are capable of meeting their assigned challenges. This is also why Pashinyan is making extended tours of the regions and different administrative districts. Sources suggest that in the near future, more CPP members will be removed and replaced with new candidates across various locations.
