Customs Workers Forced Citizen to Drink Liquid from Bottle: He Drank and Died
A tragic incident occurred a few days ago at the Zvartnots Airport. Customs officers from the State Revenue Committee noticed a bottle in the hand of a traveler arriving from Brazil and inquired about its contents. The Brazilian responded that it contained wine. Instead of checking the contents of the bottle, the customs officers forced the Brazilian citizen to drink it, after which his health deteriorated rapidly, and he died moments later. This was reported by the publication ‘Hraparak’.
It was revealed that the bottle contained narcotics. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia informed the media that on August 8, a call was received by the linear department of Zvartnots Airport reporting that a foreign national diagnosed with cardiac and respiratory failure was transported by ambulance to a medical center, where he died.
The materials have been forwarded to the investigation body. The Investigative Committee confirmed our information, stating that the deceased was a citizen of Brazil, and a criminal case has been initiated under the first part of the murder article of the RA Criminal Code.
