Armenia to Deepen Cooperation with Iran in Cargo Transportation
The government has approved the legislative initiative of the Government of the Republic of Armenia on the draft law "On Making Amendments and Additions to the Tax Code of the Republic of Armenia." The need for adopting the draft law is conditioned by the enhancement of the transit role of the Republic of Armenia and the necessity to deepen cooperation in the field of cargo transportation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The draft law proposes to establish the possibility of granting exemptions to road tax payers entering the territory of the Republic of Armenia with freight transport vehicles for the purposes of transit to a third country as well as entering the Republic of Armenia without transit, in accordance with the criteria defined by the Government of the Republic of Armenia regarding the country, type, quantity of registration (accounting) of the freight transport vehicle and the amount of exemption, and the requirement to submit documents confirming the use of road tax exemptions.
