A Baku court has sentenced Artsakh resident Rashid Beglaryan to 15 years of imprisonment. This is reported by Azerbaijani media.
He will spend the first 5 years in prison, followed by 10 years in a high-security facility. It is noteworthy that the prosecutor had sought a 17-year sentence.
Recall that on August 1, 2023, it became known that Azerbaijani border guards had arrested Rashid Beglaryan, a 61-year-old citizen of the Republic of Artsakh, who had wandered out of his village under the influence of alcohol and ended up in an area controlled by Azerbaijan.
Beglaryan was detained by the Azerbaijani side in November 2023.
