Gnel Sanosyan Presented Details About the Flood Damage
In Lori and Tavush, about 20 bridges have been damaged as a result of flooding. This was announced by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan during a government meeting.
According to him, the bridges are local, community, of various significance, including pedestrian ones. “Among them are the large bridges in the Sanahin neighborhood, Akhtala, Ayri, Karkop, Shnogh, and Khastarak. Particularly due to the damage of the Akhtala and Karkop bridges, seven settlements have been cut off from Alaverdi, and now supplies to these areas are being carried out via a mountain forest road, which we are currently upgrading,” he said.
The Minister noted that there is significant damage to water infrastructure, including water lines, pumping stations, and other structures, some of which are still submerged. “Due to the damages, several settlements have been deprived of water supply, and in some places, it was necessary to halt supply to prevent quality issues. In Dilijan, the water supply has been partially restored, but the main problem lies in Akhtala, where we are transporting water with tankers or in 5-6 liter containers,” the Minister stated.
It was reported that around 17,000 subscribers were without electricity, and currently about 600 of them do not have power, mostly in Alaverdi and Sanahin. Additionally, approximately 19,000 subscribers were without gas, of which 18,600 have been restored.
