Over a Hundred Residents Remain at Sanahin Station
As of 17:00 on May 28, search and assessment operations, water drainage from basements, as well as evacuation and food distribution efforts continue in the Lori and Tavush regions. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
In the Lori region, a total of 6 firefighting teams and 1 operational group, comprising 44 rescuers, have been deployed for the operations. Additionally, one firefighting team from the National Disaster Risk Management Center, with 5 rescuers, is also involved.
A total of 137 residents have been evacuated from Sanahin Station (5 of them on May 28), while 141 residents continue to remain at the station. In total, 130 tons of water have been drained. Operations are also underway in the cities of Alaverdi, Tashir, and the village of Haghpat.
As a result of the rescue efforts by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other involved forces, 443 people have been rescued and evacuated from various communities in the Lori and Tavush regions.
