If You Are Not Under State Order, You Spend Twice as Much on Brandy, Sweets, and Money: Pashinyan
There are needs that cannot be claimed as unfunded. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during today’s government meeting.
“To say that there is no money is to imply that we are not quite a state. There is no money; we must work and create. That's why we are returning to taxes. When our dear compatriots say, ‘Oh, do you want to tax us?’ Yes, we want to tax you because you are one of the 84,374 citizens who benefit from these state orders. If you do not access healthcare services through this mechanism, you spend twice as much on brandy, sweets, out-of-pocket payments, and so on,” he said.
The Prime Minister reiterated that taxes are not about taking money from one person's pocket to put in another's pocket, but rather about moving it within the same community. “People must understand that by paying taxes, they are providing for the welfare and safety of their children, and even their unborn grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone should go and calculate how effectively they spend money on weddings, christenings, birthdays, and home construction. The more efficiently they spend, the more we do, because we are the same people,” Pashinyan stated.
