Assad Claims There Are No Real Statesmen Left in the West

Syrian President Bashar Assad has stated in an interview with the First Channel's "Global Majority" program that there are no political figures in the West with whom he would like to engage in dialogue.

According to the Syrian leader, "There is not a single political figure left in the West who can be called a statesman; they have moved on since the Reagan and Thatcher eras." He added that "modern political figures no longer think strategically; they solve current problems presented before them and are no longer accountable for their words."

Assad noted that the political landscape in the Western world has changed significantly since the 1980s, as capitalism has begun to dictate its conditions, leading to countries transforming into corporations, and their leaders becoming heads of these corporations.

"Modern political figures no longer think strategically; they address current issues presented to them and are no longer responsible for their words. Any agreement can be canceled the next day. With that force, I can confidently say that there is not a single political figure in the West at this moment with whom I would want or find it interesting to engage in dialogue," the President of Syria stated.
