NATO Countries Will Not Intercept Missiles in Ukraine's Airspace, John Kirby
John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the U.S. National Security Council, stated that unlike Israel’s airspace, NATO countries will not intercept Russian missiles in Ukraine’s skies. “Different conflicts, different airspaces, different threat perceptions,” he said. With these words, Kirby confirmed U.S. President Joe Biden’s stance, which has repeatedly indicated that the U.S. does not intend to engage in a ‘combat role’ in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky had announced that the West should defend Ukraine in the same manner it defends Israel.
