China and Russia Reach Agreement
Russia and China have agreed to discuss ways to deepen cooperation in the field of security in Europe and Asia in order to counter the United States' attempts to impose its will on the region. This was reported by Reuters, citing a statement from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
After negotiations with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Lavrov announced that President Putin had proposed to strengthen Eurasian security, noting that China and Russia have agreed to initiate a dialogue involving their other allies on this matter.
“Both countries must resist hegemony and any narrow frameworks. NATO should not extend its reach into our common homeland,” stated Wang, a senior Chinese diplomat.
According to state media reports, Lavrov met with Chinese President Xi Jinping following his meeting with Wang.
