A Ukrainian drone has crashed into an apartment building in Belgorod, resulting in casualties, including one death, as reported by the Governor of Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov on Friday.
“Belgorod has come under attack by armed forces using drones. The drone crashed into the apartment building. Unfortunately, there has been a fatality. Two individuals have been injured. The deceased man's wife has suffered a closed head injury, facial lacerations, and superficial burns on her thigh. An ambulance crew has taken her to the regional clinical hospital,” the regional leader wrote on his Telegram channel.
He mentioned that he spoke with the deceased man's son at the scene and expressed his heartfelt condolences for their loss.
Another local resident has independently approached City Hospital No. 2. “The man sustained shrapnel injuries to the lumbar region. Both injured individuals are receiving necessary medical assistance,” Gladkov noted.
Preliminary reports indicate that windows and the glass balcony enclosures of five apartments have been damaged. A passenger vehicle parked nearby has also been affected. Operational services are working at the scene.
