G7 Countries Threaten Iran with New Sanctions if It Transfers Ballistic Missiles to Russia
The G7 countries are prepared to take steps and respond quickly in a coordinated manner if Iran transfers ballistic missiles and related technologies to the Russian Federation, according to a statement released by G7 leaders, reported by Reuters and ANSA.
According to the Wall Street Journal, European officials have warned Tehran that "this action would be a red line for them regarding the imposition of broader sanctions against Iran." In late February, White House spokesperson John Kirby stated that Washington would be prepared to impose sanctions if it received information about Iran supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. Meanwhile, the West still lacks evidence that Iran intends to transfer ballistic missiles to Russia.
