Biden Blames Congress for Russia’s Capture of Avdiivka
US President Joe Biden discussed the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Avdiivka with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky during a phone call, attributing it to the "inaction of the US Congress." This was stated in a message released by the White House press office.
"This morning, Ukrainian military personnel were forced to retreat from Avdiivka after Congressional inaction compelled Ukrainian soldiers to restrict ammunition supplies," the message read.
The White House referred to the Russian military's capture of Avdiivka as "Russia's first notable success in recent months." In this context, Biden reiterated the urgent need for swift approval of additional funding for the replenishment of Ukrainian forces.
