Baku Acknowledges Responsibility for Border Provocation in Statement

The Azerbaijani Border Service has released a statement confirming that they are the perpetrators of the provocation that occurred towards the Inner Hande region late at night.

Baku reports that on February 13, units of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan conducted a "Retribution" operation in response to a provocation by the Armenian Armed Forces the previous day.

Recall that the Azerbaijani side claimed yesterday that Armenian Armed Forces opened fire towards positions in the Zangelan region, alleging that an Azerbaijani border guard was injured as a result.

The Military Police of the Armenian Ministry of Defense announced that they are investigating the information regarding the alleged gunfire from Armenian positions.

This morning, the Armenian military department reported that starting from 05:30 on February 13, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire from small arms towards Armenian positions located in the Inner Hande area, resulting in two Armenian casualties and injuries.

The Ministry of Defense also issued another statement, asserting that the report from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense claiming that on February 12, between 20:50 and 23:40, units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia allegedly opened fire towards Azerbaijani positions in the northeastern part of the border area does not correspond to reality.
