Russian Soldiers Utilize Starlink Terminals: Defense One
Russian armed forces are using Starlink satellite internet service devices developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX along the entire front line. This is reported by the American publication Defense One, citing two Ukrainian sources.
According to one of the publication's interlocutors, the Russian army began using Starlink a few months ago, and there are now dozens of communication devices deployed along the entire front. Another source claims that the use of Starlink by Russia continues to grow.
“Once the Russian army has hundreds of Starlink terminals, it will be difficult for the Ukrainian armed forces to operate,” emphasized one of the sources.
As noted by Defense One, the use of Starlink by Russian troops is worsening the situation for Ukrainian soldiers, who are feeling a severe shortage of ammunition. It has been reported that Pentagon spokesperson Jeff Yurgensen confirmed to the publication that American officials are aware of reports regarding the use of SpaceX satellite devices by the Russian army, but all inquiries on the matter have been referred to “Ukrainian partners.”
