Passengers Using Trolleybuses Will Suffer the Most from the Proposed Transportation Tariff Plan, Says Abgaryan
The proposed transportation tariff plan by the city hall will mainly negatively impact passengers who use trolleybuses. This was stated by Yerevan City Council member Izabella Abgaryan on her Facebook page.
“I am part of that group as well, since I commute to work and back every day using the trolleybus plus metro. During a brief conversation we had, it was mentioned that the fare for trolleybuses cannot remain 50% cheaper as it used to be because the new electronic system does not allow it. Those who travel by trolleybus know well that this mode of transport also addressed social issues. This poorly thought-out fare ‘borshch’ needs to be overturned. The development of a new system requires discussions with much broader layers, multi-faceted studies, rather than hasty project approvals,” she wrote.
It is worth reminding that we previously reported that the transportation fare in Yerevan will be changed.
