Several Residential Buildings Partially or Fully Collapsed and Damaged in Yerevan Explosion
In Yerevan's Nor Aresh neighborhood on 34th Street, an explosion has occurred leading to the partial or complete collapse and damage of several residential buildings. The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated a criminal case under Article 357, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code (Violation of fire safety rules or requirements, resulting in death or other serious consequences due to negligence).
This information was shared by Gohar Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee. An investigative team has been formed. As of now, ongoing search and rescue operations are taking place while investigators from the aforementioned division are conducting necessary and urgent actions at the scene of the incident.
The causes of the explosion and the collapse, as well as other circumstances of the case, will be clarified during the preliminary investigation, the results of which will be periodically communicated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
