Ukraine Stops Receiving Military Aid from the USA: Zelensky's Response
Ukraine has ceased to receive military aid from the USA. This information has been reported by RBK. The USA has halted the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine due to the depletion of funds designated for this purpose from Congress, stated John Kirby, the National Security Coordinator of the White House, during a press briefing.
“The assistance that we were providing has currently been suspended,” Kirby said.
As reported by RIA Novosti, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also stated that the cessation of funding from the USA could deprive several million pensioners of their livelihoods. Speaking to reporters in Riga, he criticized American politicians who are calling for an end to aid to Kyiv. In particular, he was asked to comment on statements made by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who expressed dissatisfaction that funds allocated by Washington are being paid to Ukrainian officials and pensioners.
Zelensky warned that the lack of assistance could endanger the lives of about 12 million Ukrainian pensioners if their pensions are not paid. He emphasized that DeSantis “does not understand what it means to support pensioners” in a country that is at war. “When DeSantis becomes a pensioner, I will personally be happy to assist him, as the USA has helped our pensioners,” Zelensky promised.
