When Will the First Meteor Shower of 2024 Take Place

On the night of January 2-3, the Quadrantids meteor shower will reach its peak. Astronomers predict up to 120 meteors per hour during this event. This information was provided to TASS by the press service of the Moscow Planetarium.

The shower will be active from December 28 to January 12.

“According to predictions from the International Meteor Organization, the maximum will be reached on the night with up to 120 meteors per hour. In a clear sky, this would mean about 1-2 meteors per minute,” the astronomers state. Scientists have identified the second half of the night as the best time to observe the meteor shower.
