U.S. Aid Package for Ukraine to Include Air Defense and HIMARS Ammunition, Blinken
A new military aid package worth $200 million for Ukraine, approved by the U.S. president, could be one of the last if the U.S. Congress does not agree to allocate additional funding for Kyiv's needs. This was stated in a written statement by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
"If the U.S. Congress does not take action to provide additional funding, this will be one of the last security assistance packages that we will be able to provide to Ukraine," the statement released by the U.S. State Department's press service said.
According to the document, the current aid package will include munitions and components for air defense systems, additional ammunition for HIMARS MLRS, 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells, anti-tank rounds, small arms ammunition, as well as spare parts and support equipment.
Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden announced at the White House during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky that a new military aid package of $200 million would be allocated to Kyiv.
