Egypt Issues Statement
Following a sharp escalation of tension in the Palestinian enclave, more than 14,000 foreign citizens and dual nationals have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip to Egypt. This information was provided by Dia Rashwan, head of the Egyptian State Information Service.
“Since the beginning of the escalation, a total of 14,023 foreigners and dual citizens have been transferred to Egypt through the ‘Rafah’ crossing from Gaza, as well as 2,135 Egyptians,” Rashwan noted.
He added that to date, 773 individuals have been transported to Egypt, who were injured as a result of airstrikes by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, along with critically ill patients who were transferred to Egyptian hospitals for treatment.
