995 Trucks Queue at the Ukraine-Slovakia Border
A queue of 995 trucks has formed at the Ukraine-Slovakia border. The Slovak Association of Road Transporters blocked the "Vyshne Nemetske" crossing point with Ukraine yesterday. Activists are obstructing the passage of commercial trucks.
Slovak drivers are demanding that the European Union revoke the decision to relax licensing regulations for Ukrainian trucks. The drivers, who began their strike in early November, are complaining that their Ukrainian counterparts are offering lower prices for their services and are transporting goods within the EU, not just between the alliance and Ukraine. This has sparked their anger. It remains unclear when the border crossing will reopen.
