Artificial Problems Created for Armenian Trucks at Upper Lars Checkpoint

Artificial problems are being created for Armenian trucks at the Upper Lars checkpoint, as entry is being blocked and clarifications are demanded from the Armenian authorities, according to media reports.

According to a statement from the Traffic Management Center of North Ossetia, as of Monday evening, 2,669 (updated) trucks had registered in the electronic queue for exiting Russia to Georgia at the Upper Lars checkpoint. Meanwhile, issues facing Armenian trucks attempting to enter Russia continue, and unlike the queue for Russian trucks, these problems are not linked to adverse weather conditions but rather to political decisions made by Russia.

Currently, Armenian trucks at the Upper Lars checkpoint are undergoing intensified plant sanitation checks. Entry for 21 trucks has been denied, while 31 have been checked but are unable to enter as they wait for the results of their inspections. It remains unclear how many trucks are queued.
