The Russian Side Hopes: Peskov on Armenia's Continued Work Within CSTO Framework
The Russian side hopes that Armenia will continue its work within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, to journalists.
He expressed regret that the Armenian side would not be represented at a high level at the summit taking place in Minsk on November 23. “Of course, we can express regret that there will be no high-level participation from Armenia at tomorrow's summit; we hope there will be representation at a working, expert level, but we certainly expect that Armenia will continue its work within the CSTO framework,” Peskov noted.
Earlier, it was reported that Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan would not participate in the meetings in Minsk under the CSTO framework. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had also previously refused to attend the CSTO summit.
