Work Continues on Sending CSTO Observer Mission to Armenia
Work continues on sending a CSTO observer mission to Armenia in accordance with previously adopted decisions of the organization's Collective Security Council. This was stated in a commentary released by the CSTO Secretariat.
Earlier, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov indicated that Armenia had requested its partners to remove the documents related to providing assistance to the country from the agenda. So far, two documents concerning the stabilization of the situation in the South Caucasus were being developed.
"The issue relates to the drafts of the CSTO Collective Security Council decisions on providing assistance to the Republic of Armenia and a statement by the heads of foreign ministries supporting efforts to achieve peace in that region. Ahead of the meetings of the CSTO statutory bodies in Minsk, the Armenian side proposed to remove the draft of the statement from the discussion," the CSTO Secretariat's commentary noted.
