Once Again I Call on Armenia: Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on Armenia to conclude a peace treaty with Azerbaijan as soon as possible. This was reported by TASS.

“Once again, I call on Armenia to take the hand of friendship extended to them by our Azerbaijani brothers,” said the Turkish leader after a government meeting. His remarks were broadcast on TRT Haber television.

According to Erdogan, the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has “opened a new era in the region,” but certain forces in the West do not want to come to terms with this. “The people of Armenia and its leadership must seek security in peace and cooperation, rather than looking thousands of kilometers away from the region. No weapons or ammunition sent by Western countries can provide a stable environment for peace and security,” Erdogan stated, without specifying which countries he was referring to.

On November 20, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that Baku has been waiting for more than two months for Armenia’s response to peace treaty proposals. He stated that the delay in Yerevan’s response is due to them receiving “bad advice, particularly from France.” “France plays a very destructive role in the South Caucasus; in fact, Armenia has become a puppet of the French government, and this could pose a serious threat to regional stability,” Aliyev warned.
