How Much the War Against Hamas Will Cost Israel
The conflict with the Palestinian Hamas group will cost Israel approximately $51 billion if it continues for up to a year. This preliminary forecast has been released by the Israeli Ministry of Finance, describing it as "optimistic," according to Calcalist.
The prediction is based on the assumption that the war will last from eight months to one year and will not extend beyond the Gaza Strip, as well as the expectation that 350,000 reservists can soon return to work. Such expenses would account for about 10% of Israel's GDP over the year.
