Biden: Netanyahu's Days as Israel's Prime Minister Are Numbered, He Will Last a Few Months
US President Joe Biden believes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's political career is nearing its end. This is reported by Politico, citing sources from the American administration.
According to the publication, the White House "feels that Netanyahu's days as Prime Minister of Israel are numbered," and he "will last a few months or until the initial phase of the Israeli military operation in Gaza is completed."
Politico notes that Biden discussed Netanyahu's future prospects in a private conversation and suggested that he "consider what scenario he will propose to his successor."
Earlier, during a press conference, Netanyahu avoided answering questions about the possibility of his resignation, emphasizing that he is fully focused on conducting military operations in Gaza against the radical Palestinian Hamas movement.
The US President also advocated for a humanitarian pause in Gaza after his speech was interrupted by a protester demanding a ceasefire. "I think we need a pause. A pause means time to get the hostages out," Biden said.
At the same time, he deemed calls for a complete ceasefire between Israel and Hamas as inappropriate. According to Joe Biden, Israel is currently conducting "absolutely legitimate actions" in its defense, but at the same time, it is necessary to consider the lives of the civilian population in Gaza.
