Are Phrases Like 'I'll Cut Off Your Ear' and 'I'll Cut Out Your Tongue' Criminally Punishable? A Question for the Head of the Investigation Committee
Today, in the courtyard of the National Assembly, the Head of the Investigation Committee, Arghishti Kyaramyan, addressed the media regarding the public statements made by the MP from the ruling party, Arthur Hovhannisyan, where he said, 'I'll cut off your ear' and 'I'll cut out your tongue.'
When asked whether these statements are criminally punishable, Kyaramyan did not provide a specific answer. 'I do not want to comment on a specific case. I would ask you to send a concrete question, and I assure you that we will provide a detailed response. According to the Criminal Procedure Code, there has to be a report of a crime, which can be made. Do you think I am knowledgeable about all cases? I am not fully informed about this case. I will look into it, clarify, and get back to you,' explained the Head of the Investigation Committee.
