Armenia Ready to Purchase Gas from Azerbaijan After Resolving Political Disputes, Says Deputy Minister
Armenia is prepared to buy gas from Azerbaijan after resolving political disagreements between the two countries. This statement was made by Hakob Vardanyan, Armenia's Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, during the "Silk Road" International Conference in Tbilisi.
“The halt in the supply of gas and electricity from Azerbaijan to Armenia due to the conflict was a shocking event for Armenia's gas and electric energy system, as we were then purchasing gas from Azerbaijan. Afterward, we began constructing a new gas pipeline through Georgia to supply gas to our country. I hope there will be peace in our region, and we will be able to cooperate and diversify our energy systems, as we did in those days,” Vardanyan's words are quoted by EADaily.
