Either We Achieve Sustainable Peace or a Global War Will Begin, says Fidan
Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan believes that only a full resolution of the conflict between Israel and Hamas will prevent a new global war. According to Al Jazeera, Fidan stated that the international community is currently at a "turning point in history."
“Either we achieve sustainable peace, or a global war will begin. We call on all regional and international stakeholders to listen to the voice of reason. Those who encourage Israel to continue its crimes are also responsible. If we do not act quickly, darker days lie ahead of us,” Fidan remarked during a press conference after meeting with his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
He also added that Israel needs to realize it cannot achieve peace and security through violence. Fidan emphasized that the only solution to escape the situation is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
