Pro- Azerbaijan Banners Appear in the Streets of Tabriz, According to Turkologist
Pro-Azerbaijan banners with the message "Zangezur is Azerbaijan" have appeared on the streets of Tabriz, Iran. This was reported by Turkologist Varoujan Geghamyan.
"Turkey and Azerbaijan are working together to secure what is commonly referred to as the 'Zangezur corridor', which is intended not only to provide land connectivity between the two countries but also to lay the groundwork for the creeping annexation of Syunik. In other words, the Azerbaijani-Turkish agenda has now shifted from the formula of 'Karbakh is Azerbaijan' to the concept of 'Zangezur is Azerbaijan'. If this implementation occurs, Turkey and Azerbaijan will turn their gaze south towards Iran's northern provinces, which are referred to as 'Southern Azerbaijan' in Turkish political discourse. Thus, alongside their work on Syunik, the Azerbaijani-Turkish duo is persistently working in northern Iran as well," he wrote, adding, "Last night, banners reading 'Zangezur is Azerbaijan' appeared on the streets of Tabriz, inhabited by a Turkish-speaking population, indicating the long-term goal of creating a 'Baku-Tabriz-Ankara' axis."
