Total Material Losses in Artsakh Exceed $50 Billion, According to MP
Total material losses in Artsakh are estimated to exceed $50 billion, according to preliminary assessments. This was stated by Tevan Avetisyan, a member of the 'Armenia' parliamentary faction, during a briefing in the National Assembly.
He noted that before the 44-day war, Artsakh's economy experienced double-digit growth for 20 consecutive years. 'In 2019, the GDP amounted to 343 billion drams, while the state budget was around $380 million. Approximately 300 mines and 36 hydroelectric stations were operational in Artsakh. Against this economic backdrop, we are now discussing distributing between 10,000 and 40,000 drams to the people of Artsakh,' he mentioned.
