‘Missing’ General Surovikin Appointed Head of CIS Air Defense Coordination Committee
Sergey Surovikin, the former commander of Russia's joint forces in the special military operations zone, has been appointed as the head of the CIS Air Defense Coordination Committee. This was reported by EAdaily.
The announcement regarding Surovikin's appointment was made by the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS countries. According to the publication, the general's candidacy was unanimously supported during the voting.
General Surovikin had vanished from the informational sphere on June 24, 2023, when he called on Wagner fighters to cease the rebellion initiated by Yevgeny Prigozhin. A few days ago, a photo surfaced online showing the general and his wife strolling around Moscow.
