India Launches Its First Spacecraft to Study the Sun

India has successfully launched its first spacecraft to study the Sun, just two weeks after a successful uncrewed landing in the southern polar region of the Moon. The Aditya-L1 spacecraft was launched from the Sriharikota space station in southern India aboard a rocket, embarking on a journey to observe the Sun from a point approximately 930,000 kilometers away known as L1.

The spacecraft is equipped with seven payloads designed to study the solar corona, chromosphere, photosphere, and solar wind, according to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
