Defense Ministry Issues New Statement

The Defense Ministry informs that the Azerbaijani propaganda machine is spreading false information regarding the supposed concentration of a large amount of weapons, military equipment, and personnel by the Armenian Armed Forces in the Sotk area. According to the ministry, “By circulating such false information, the Azerbaijani side is creating an informational basis for the continuation of its next provocation that began this morning in the direction of Sotk.”

It should be noted that this morning, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported that the enemy, having repeatedly spread disinformation since August 31 and thereby creating an informational basis for its next provocation, has opened intense fire on Armenian positions located in the Sotk area starting from 07:50 on September 1. As a result of Azerbaijan's provocative actions, the Armenian side has reported 2 fatalities and one injury.

The Ministry of Defense had earlier also reported that the enemy is using mortars.
