Government Appeals to European Court for Soldier Captured by Azerbaijan: Samvelyan
Yesterday, the Armenian government applied to the European Court regarding the soldier captured by Azerbaijan, demanding interim measures against Azerbaijan. This was reported by Hasmik Samvelyan, spokesperson for the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Issues.
It should be noted that earlier, the Armenian Ministry of Defense announced that on August 16, reserve soldier G. V. had reportedly left his combat position voluntarily. Shortly after this announcement, the Azerbaijani side reported that there was a captured Armenian individual. Following this statement from Azerbaijan, the Armenian Ministry of Defense presented a video showing how a group of Azerbaijani Armed Forces soldiers approached reserve soldier G. V., who had found himself on the Azerbaijani side under unclear circumstances, engaged him in conversation, and subsequently apprehended him, transporting him in a vehicle in an unknown direction.
