Armenian Church in Kars Continues to Be Targeted by Turkish Treasure Hunters

Treasure hunters have raided a 150-year-old Armenian church located in Kars, in eastern Turkey. This was reported by Ermenihaber. It is noted that the church in the Ucluer neighborhood, situated opposite the Kars fortress, has become a target for treasure hunters and is on the verge of collapse.

One reason for this deterioration is that treasure hunters have even destroyed parts of the church's walls to achieve their goal. Locals have mentioned that the church was once studied by archaeologists and has also served as a barn for the community.

One resident stated, “If the church is not taken under the control of the relevant authorities even one minute sooner, it may collapse and disappear.”
