Turkey Can Play an Effective Role in Armenian-Azerbaijani Settlement, Says Matthew Miller
Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, discussed Turkey's involvement in the potential for an Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement and peace agreement during a press briefing.
A journalist reminded him that recently, the U.S. Secretary of State had a phone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the Armenian-Azerbaijani resolution.
"How would you define Turkey's role at this point in this process?" the journalist asked.
"I don't want to go into details about that; it was a private diplomatic conversation. I will only say that we believe Turkey can play an effective role in this matter," said Miller.
