Peskov Comments on Wagner Movement Near Poland's Border
The press secretary of the Russian president has commented on Poland's statements regarding the movements of the private military company (PMC) Wagner's fighters towards the Polish-Belarusian border.
In response to a reporter's question about whether Moscow perceives any deliberate incitement of conflicts from such actions by PMCs, the Kremlin representative noted that the military company's fighters are indeed located in the territory of Belarus, which is a sovereign state. According to Peskov, it does not matter where specifically the Wagner soldiers are stationed within this country.
"The Poles themselves tend to escalate the situation," said the Kremlin spokesman. "This line has not changed." Discussing Belarusian helicopters approaching the border with Poland, Peskov pointed to Polish statements that there have been no recorded violations on radar.
