Over 9000 Hospitalized in Japan Due to Heatwave; Casualties Reported
In Japan, more than 9,000 people have been hospitalized due to the hot weather over the course of a week. This was reported by Kyodo agency on July 25.
“From July 17 to July 23, a total of 9,190 individuals were hospitalized with heatstroke,” the report states.
During this period, 10 people died as a result of heatstroke. The number of hospitalizations increased by nearly a thousand compared to the previous week. More than half of the affected individuals are aged 65 and older.
