Electricity Prices in France to Increase by 10% Starting August 1, Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed in an interview with France 2 television that the government plans to raise electricity prices by 10% starting August 1.
“The Prime Minister and the relevant authorities have decided to increase the electricity price from August 1. The government will continue to support the poorest families. This increase is due to the fact that electricity prices are essentially an external tax, influenced by geopolitical changes and market disruptions that are currently stabilizing,” said the French President.
