Moscow is Confident that Baku and Yerevan Can Normalize Relations: Ryabkov
Moscow is confident that Baku and Yerevan can normalize their relations. This statement was made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.
"We are convinced that responsible political figures in Armenia and Azerbaijan are approaching the positions that Russia promotes at all stages with a reasonable mindset. I believe our efforts will yield the desired results and lead to the resolution of the issue," Ryabkov said.
He emphasized that unlike the West, Russia is seeking only a "sustainable settlement formula" in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and is working on an understandable agenda for both countries.
According to Ryabkov, Russia does not want any side to perceive geopolitical competitive elements in its proposals with the so-called collective West. "We are ready to help the parties find a point where interests converge and where it is possible to achieve results in the form of a binding agreement," Ryabkov noted.
Speaking about the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Ryabkov stated that Russia has done and will continue to do everything possible to minimize the humanitarian consequences of the crisis.
