Red Cross Staff Visits Armenian Prisoners of War in Azerbaijan
At the end of June and the beginning of July, staff from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan, according to Azerbaijani media outlets.
Elkhan Huseynov, head of the ICRC's public relations department in Azerbaijan, stated that individual meetings were held with the Armenian prisoners, providing them the opportunity to communicate with their families.
According to its mandate, during these visits, the ICRC assesses the treatment of detainees and the conditions of their detention, as well as facilitates the restoration or continuation of their communication with families.
