A Popular Militia to Be Established in Belarus
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has signed a law establishing a popular militia in the country.
According to the official website of the Belarusian leader, "The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has signed the law on the 'Popular Militia.'" It clarifies that the document establishes legal conditions for the voluntary participation of citizens in ensuring martial law, as well as for assisting local internal affairs bodies.
Earlier, it was reported that Belarusian authorities had ratified an agreement with Russia that envisages the establishment of combat training centers for the joint retraining of armed forces servicemen.
