US to Transfer Cluster Munitions to Ukraine

Washington will transfer cluster munitions to Kyiv. This was stated by Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Advisor, during a press briefing.

“The supply of cluster munitions to Ukraine will be an interim measure while the US ramps up production of artillery shells,” Sullivan added.

It is noted that the use of these munitions poses a risk to civilian populations, which is why the US had delayed its decision to provide them. At the same time, the White House has indicated that Ukraine will use the cluster munitions in its territory, minimizing the risk to its citizens.
