Wagner Group May Be Used for Belarus' Defense: Lukashenko

If the Wagner private military company is deployed in Belarus, it could be used for the country's defense. This was announced by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko.

“Whether they will be in Belarus and in what numbers, we will understand in the near future. We will definitely inform about our further cooperation with those units. I am absolutely not worried and not concerned that a certain number of fighters will be deployed here,” Lukashenko stated.

He emphasized that if this happens, it would be “under certain conditions.”

“The main condition is that if we need to use these units for the state's defense (if they are here), they will be activated immediately in any direction,” said the Belarusian leader.
