Citizens Avoiding Conscription Will Be Prohibited from Taking Driving Exams in Russia
Citizens in Russia who evade conscription will not be able to take the driving license examination, stated Mikhail Chernikov, the head of the Russian Traffic Police, during a meeting with journalists. This information was reported by Ria.ru.
“We have an integrated database. And we can see those who have not presented themselves for military registration. Through the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, such citizens will not be able to access public services in the federal information system; they will not be able to replace their driving licenses, obtain them anew, or perform registration and examination actions,” he clarified.
It is mentioned that earlier this week, the Ministry of Internal Affairs approved a departmental order regarding restrictions on evaders, which will come into effect on July 11. According to the law concerning the creation of a unified registry of individuals responsible for military service, citizens who do not present themselves at the military enlistment office within 20 days from the date of receiving the call will be prohibited from driving and registering a vehicle.
Maxut Shadaev, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, indicated that the register of individuals responsible for military service could be fully operational no earlier than the start of the autumn draft.
